Zach Top has released two new songs, “Good Girls & Cowgirls” and “Other Side Of Hurtin’,” expanding the Washington native’s growing catalog as he continues his Cold Beer & Country Music Tour. The two-track release gives listeners two distinctly different sides of Top’s traditional country sound.

“Good Girls & Cowgirls” leans into an upbeat, honky-tonk style, using playful lyrics and a lively arrangement to contrast the personalities suggested by its title. The track had already generated anticipation after Top performed it publicly for the first time July 18 during his headlining appearance at the Under the Big Sky Festival in Whitefish, Montana. He later shared an acoustic performance of the song ahead of its official release.

“Other Side Of Hurtin’” takes a more reflective approach. The country ballad centers on a man trying to move past a breakup while drinking at a bar, giving the release a more subdued, classic-country character. The song was written by Top, Carson Chamberlain and Tim Nichols, with Chamberlain producing both tracks.

The songs were designed as a modern take on the traditional two-sided country single, with “Good Girls & Cowgirls” serving as the A-side and “Other Side Of Hurtin’” as the B-side. A limited-edition 7-inch vinyl pressing features both tracks.
