Miranda Lambert is previewing her upcoming album Crisco with the release of the single ‘Two Things Can Be True,’ co-written by Lambert along with Jesse Frasure, Natalie Hemby, Ilya Toshinskiy, Kris Wilkinson and her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.
“Two Things Can Be True’ follows the release of the title track,”Crisco,” along with the song “Till the Going’s Gone.” Additional songs on the 12-track project include “Snakeskin Boots,” “Cowgirl Curtsy,” “Whiskey Business”, “Sunset Marquis,” and a collaboration with Chris Stapleton titled “A Song To Sing.” Miranda shares of the song: “‘Two Things Can Be True’ is probably my favorite song on the record right now. There’s something about it that feels almost like singing a duet with the steel and strings, and it’s country through and through with an old-school Patsy Cline feeling. I love that it found its own little corner of the Crisco world.”
Crisco will be released Oct. 2, and is Lambert’s her first full-length album since Postcards From Texas. Lambert has described Crisco as a project that blends traditional country influences with a vibrant disco-inspired sound, drawing inspiration from classic records while exploring new musical territory. She previously said, “It has so many elements of the country music that I love that I’ve never put on tape,” adding that the music captures a carefree spirit and sense of joy.
Lambert’s previously released track from the album, “Sunset Marquis,” is co-written by Lambert alongside co-producer Jesse Frasure, David Garcia, Waylon Payne and Ashley Monroe. The song is described as a homage to the iconic West Hollywood hotel, with the ’70s-inspired groove “capturing the timeless allure of a place where time stands still… where the stars come out and the music’s loud.” Miranda shared of that song: “I’ve been staying at the Sunset Marquis for close to 20 years. Every time I’m there, you never know who you’re going to run into or what kind of memories you’re going to make. It has this timeless energy that feels like stepping into another era. When we wrote this song, I wanted listeners to be able to close their eyes and feel like they were there with us – to see it, smell it and experience the magic that’s made the Sunset Marquis such a special place for so many years.”
