Country star Jelly Roll, 41, and podcast host Bunnie XO, 46, are ending their marriage after nearly 10 years together. Court documents filed in Williamson County, Tennessee, reveal the singer, whose legal name is Jason DeFord, submitted the paperwork on May 18, 2026. According to the legal filings, the artist cited irreconcilable differences as the grounds for the dissolution, stating the couple could no longer successfully live together as husband and wife. Reports indicated the split was a mutual decision and is being handled privately.
Hours before news of the filing emerged, Bunnie, who hosts the ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast, published cryptic messages on her social media accounts, including lyrics about the difficulties of shared domestic life. She also shared a social media post captioned, “She’s getting sparkle back.”
The couple met in 2015 and married in a spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony in August 2016. Bunnie (legal name Alisa DeFord) became a key part of Jelly Roll’s personal and professional life. While the couple does not share any children together, Bunnie served as a stepmother to DeFord’s two children from previous relationships: daughter Bailee Ann and son Noah. The pair renewed their vows in Las Vegas in 2023, and earlier this year spoke about expanding their family through surrogacy.
Despite presenting a united front in recent months – including appearances at the Grammy Awards and on Bunnie XO’s book tour — the marriage had endured well-documented struggles, including a brief separation in 2018. Bunnie previously discussed periods of infidelity and the couple’s efforts in therapy, saying during past interviews that working through those difficulties had strengthened their relationship. DeFord also addressed prior marital struggles, stating, “One of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife.”
Neither party has issued a formal public statement regarding the pending divorce. DeFord has reportedly retained a prominent legal team to represent him in the upcoming court proceedings.
