Miranda Lambert is stepping into a fresh creative phase with her new single “Crisco,” set for release on May 15. The track also marks her first release under a new partnership with MCA Records, signaling a notable shift in her career while staying true to her country foundation.
On “Crisco,” Lambert explores a brighter, more playful sound that fuses her classic country roots with a 1970s disco influence. More than just a single release, “Crisco” reflects a wider artistic shift for Lambert—one rooted in evolution without abandoning authenticity. Long recognized as one of country music’s most influential voices, she continues to expand her sound while holding onto the storytelling core that defines her work. With this release, she signals a confident, lighthearted new direction built on both risk-taking and familiarity.
Co-written with Aaron Raitiere, Jesse Frasure, and Chill Fellacheck, Lambert describes the song as capturing “dancing in your kitchen with the person you love, spinning old records, not overthinking a thing.” The song also weaves in subtle inspiration from timeless favorites like Southern Nights and Islands in the Stream, connecting eras of country and pop while still pushing her sound forward.
