Darius Rucker took the stage at the historic Ryman Auditorium on June 1 for the 17th edition of his “Darius & Friends” benefit concert, supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The show once again kicked-off CMA Fest week in Nashville and has grown into one of the most anticipated charity events in country music, raising more than $5.1 million for St. Jude so far – and , ensuring families never receive a bill for treatment.
Rucker’s involvement began in 2008 after a visit to St. Jude, where he saw firsthand the hospital’s work in treating and researching childhood cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. That experience inspired a long-term commitment that evolved into an annual concert blending major country stars with rising talent.
The night featured Rucker performing alongside a highly anticipated, surprise lineup of all-star friends, including Lauren Alaina, Jason Aldean, Randy Houser and Carter Faith.
In addition to ticket sales, the event featured a silent auction allowing fans to win VIP concert experiences and getaways.
