Country duo Dan + Shay will release their sixth studio album, Young, on Aug. 21 through Warner Records Nashville. The project marks a deeply personal chapter for members Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, drawing inspiration from family, faith, and the pursuit of their dreams during a defining period in their 13-year career.
Young follows Dan + Shay’s successful fifth studio release, Bigger Houses, which featured a Grammy-nominated No. 1 title track and reinforced the duo’s standing in country-pop music.
Their upcoming album’s title track, “Young,” marks the second single from the record. Co-produced by Smyers alongside longtime collaborator Scott Hendricks, the collection features songs rooted in real-life experiences and personal reflection. “Young is by far our most personal album yet, and we are beyond excited for our fans to hear it,” the duo shared. “Every song is inspired by a true story, and gives a real-time snapshot of exactly where we are in our lives.”
Meanwhile, the duo’s current single “Say So” continues climbing the country charts while bringing attention to mental health and suicide prevention. The song, dedicated to late music executive Ben Vaughn, has been described by the duo as “the most important release of our career so far.”
